A federal judge denied today the Pulaski County Special School District's motion that it be declared partially unitary and released from federal court supervision.
Federal Judge Price Marshall denied the motion as "premature," but said he would be willing to hold hearings on the motion next summer and asked the district to file a status report Feb. 1 of next year.
The court previously found the district deficient in nine areas; the district said it had made considerable progress in those areas. Here's the judge's ruling, which also approves the interdistrict 2012-13 magnet school budget; the part regarding the Pulaski District is on page 4.
