KLRT reports that up to a dozen people were injured this morning, some of them critically, when their church bus crashed after the driver reported feeling ill and later lost control. The wreck happened on Highway 9, about two miles from Morrilton. Two people were airlifted from the scene. The people on the bus were apparently a senior citizen gospel singing group from Lonoke Missionary Baptist Church in Morrilton.
UPDATE: Arkansas State Police Spokesman Bill Sadler said that though the initial call troopers received said the bus had overturned, that was not the case, and most of the passengers were uninjured. Sadler said the injuries that were sustained have been reported to him by officers on the scene as "not life-threatening."
