News release just arrived from a third Republican candidate for 4th District Congress, where Lt. Gov. Mark Darr and state Rep. Bruce Westerman have already announced candidacies to succeed Rep. Tom Cotton, seeking to move up to Senate after only seven months on the job. The new man, Tommy Moll, arrives with Twitter, Facebook and a website up and running.
Hot Springs, Arkansas —— Conservative businessman Tommy Moll of Hot Springs announced today that he has filed to be a Republican candidate for the 4th Congressional District of Arkansas. Moll said his campaign will focus on jobs and the economy, two areas in which he is uniquely qualified.
In a statement released today to media and supporters, Tommy Moll said:
“I’m running for Congress to defend our freedoms from a federal government that is out of control. The Fourth District needs a leader in Washington with a business background who understands how the private sector creates jobs and how government intervention harms economic growth. [jump]As your representative, my top priorities will be jobs and the economy. With unemployment in the Fourth District at 8.4%, nearly 27,000 Arkansans in our district are looking for a job. The federal government has only made the problem worse by recklessly passing job-killing laws like Obamacare, while piling up a national debt so large it threatens every American with the prospect of economic calamity.
In the weeks ahead I will be touring all 33 counties in our district. I look forward to meeting with my fellow Arkansans and sharing a message of constitutionally limited government, individual liberty, and economic freedom that will secure a better future for all Arkansans.

Tommy Moll is a sixth-generation Arkansan whose family moved to Arkansas over 150 years ago to start a farm in Columbia County. Today, Tommy lives in Hot Springs carrying on his family’s Arkansas tradition as a businessman investing in the energy sector.
In his private sector career, Tommy worked for Jefferies, where he helped companies raise money to develop energy and mining resources and create jobs for American workers. Previously, Tommy worked at the Peterson Institute for International Economics in Washington, DC, where his research highlighted ways the federal government can open new markets for American businesses and farms.
Tommy graduated from Southside High School in Fort Smith and earned a bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary, a master’s degree from the London School of Economics, and a law degree from Columbia, where he was a co-founder of Law Students for Life and a member of the Federalist Society.
Tommy is married to Meredith Humphrey Moll, a sixth-generation Arkansan who also grew up in Fort Smith and whose family has roots in Smackover, Charleston, and Texarkana.
