The Arkansas strawberry is a sweet, ephemeral thing, and so are mothers. They are worthy of celebration, and that's exactly what the Bernice Garden, at Daisy Bates and Main streets, plans to do on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 12.
The first "Mother’s Day Strawberry Festival," from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., will feature locaberries from Barnhill Orchards and North Pulaski Farms for sale and Boulevard Bread Co. will dish up strawberry shortcakes, whoopie pies, and other strawberry treats on the spot. There will be free handmade strawberry recipe fans for souvenirs and coloring pages for kids.
There will be other foods for sale along with the strawberries as part of the Bernice Garden's regular Farmers Market.
