The"EXPRESSIONS Art Show and Sale"is so successful it has outgrown the Governor's Mansion ballroom, Birch Tree Communities has announced, and it will be held this year at Temple B'Nai Israel at 3700 N. Rodney Parham Road. The date: April 18. The time: 6-8:30 p.m. The artists: Clients of Birch Tree, men and women with serious mental illness who find expression in art. Eye Candy is the proud owner of several pieces of art bought at this fund-raiser, the proceeds of which go to the artists.
This year's show, the 11th annual, will feature more than 200 works. The live auction starts at 6:45 p.m.; other pieces in the show will be sold for fixed prices. KATV's Daybreak show host Renee Shapiro will emcee and Wine and Roses will provide the music. The $10 ticket gets you refreshments and light hors d'oeuvres. Call 315-3344 for more information.
