Dig it. We're pleased to present the second installment of a regular Arkansas Times video series produced by Camp Friday Films and Greg Spradlin (who can play music a little, too). Spradlin's first contribution was a preview of Local Lime. That and the video above, a song from The Gourds' irrepressible front man Kevin "Shinyribs" Russell, represents the initial focus of our collaboration with Spradlin — food and music. We may expand that focus down the road.
This video was recorded live in Little Rock's Fellowship Hall Sound, the recording studio in Hillcrest shared by Isaac Alexander, Jason Weinheimer (an old friend of Russell's) and Spradlin. This song, a preview from a forthcoming album from Russell's side-project Shinyribs, was recorded last October after a performance by The Gourds at White Water Tavern.
Russell will bring Shinyribs to White Water on March 1.
